Seeing People, Trusting God
The Relational Art of Disciple-Making
What if the greatest need in disciple-making is not a better program—but a better way of seeing people?
Churches have more discipleship resources than ever before. We have classes, small groups, curricula, conferences, and carefully designed pathways. Yet one question remains: Are people actually becoming more like Jesus?
In Seeing People, Trusting God, Rupert Loyd invites pastors, ministry leaders, and everyday believers to rediscover the deeply personal, relational way Jesus made disciples. Jesus did not use one method for everyone. He saw people clearly, discerned what they needed, and met them with truth, grace, challenge, and presence.
Drawing from Jesus’ relationships and the examples of the New Testament, this book offers a practical framework for understanding five essential purposes of discipling relationships: establishing believers, encouraging and restoring the wounded, fostering mutual spiritual formation, equipping people for the work of ministry, and multiplying disciple-makers.
Transformation is the goal, and purposeful, Christ-centered relationships are among the ways God brings about that transformation.
Learn to see people more clearly. Trust the Holy Spirit more deeply. And join Jesus in the relational art of making disciples who increasingly look like Him.
